AmpThink wins “Tech Tank” competition at National Sports Forum

February 16, 2017

A panel of judges representing teams from the NBA, MLS, NFL and MLB voted AmpThink the winner of the ticket sales category at NSF’s Tech Tank competition.

In its presentation AmpThink demonstrated how its Wi-Fi portal can be leveraged by teams to identify anonymous fans and use data to sell more tickets. The presentation included case studies that showed how teams have increased season ticket sales using new data collected through Wi-Fi. AmpThink also demonstrated how its portal is being used to enhance fan experiences, enable new sponsorship revenue and drive down venue operations costs. AmpThink beat out several other technologies to claim the prize.

Tech Tank is NSF’s version of to popular reality TV show, “Shark Tank.” Competitors each make 10 minute presentations demonstrating their technologies. While the judges don’t invest in the tech (as in Shark Tank) they do vote on a winner. There are three categories of competition: Ticket sales, sponsorship sales and fan experience. AmpThink’s presentation, “How to sell more tickets with a Wi-Fi portal,” took first place in the ticket sales category.
